Plus Sized Can Be Very Sexy
How To Do Layering
For Plus-Sized Women
Most women who fall on the plus-size category are usually
hesitant when it comes to layering. This is normally because a tall or a
big-boned girl would avoid having to look bigger than she already is by wearing
layers of too much clothing. Even the wrong choice of fabric can lead to
looking heavier. But, there is no need to fret.
While the wrong choices may be unflattering, the right ones will help
you create dazzling looks that are perfect for your fall and winter wardrobe.
Here are five tips to keep in mind when layering:
Black is always sexy.
No other color can give you the same kind of slimming effect. These are
safe options for plus-sized, hence it is always wise to invest on black pieces
for your go-to look. A black blazer, for an instance, will instantly make you
look business-appropriate. And a black pair of trousers, on the other hand,
will make your legs look slimmer. If you also decide to go on an all-black
ensemble, you can easily throw in a pop of color or a fun print for your
jacket.
Go monochromatic. Of
course, you do not have to limit yourself with black. You can also experiment
on other colors, but staying monochromatic avoids a heavier feel with so much
going on. For example, you can sport blue and play with its different shades,
even throw in a print or pattern with the same color. Then, add a denim jacket
for a casual touch of layering.
Try on long vests and
cardigans. Choose layering items that are longer. It must fall past your
waist and around your hips for an elongated figure. Avoid short cardigans and
vests that may give you a wider silhouette.
Invest on nice belts.
Belts are stylish and useful accessories that you need to take advantage of
if you are a plus-sized. For example, you can wear a slim belt over a long
cardigan to accentuate your waist and instantly give you shape. A wider belt
helps too if you are donning separates, then you can throw in a jacket over
your outfit.
Explore your preppy
side. This is another way to layer if you are getting tired of the
traditional jackets. Wear a sweater over a collared shirt for a nice, trendy
finish. Choose colors that are soothing to the eye and not too loud, preferably
pastels and neutral shades. Also, for your inner top, pick materials that are
light and soft, like silk or chiffon. It gives you the layering effect without
looking heavy or too cluttered.
The wrong way of layering can make you look heavier. But
with the right ways to guide you, you can flaunt your curves and look your
sexiest- even during the gloomiest of seasons that would require you to put on
a lot of clothing!
